Lead Professional, Architect – New York City
WSP’s Transportation Facilities Group (TFG) is seeking a Lead Professional, Architect to work in our New York City office. You will be involved in projects ranging from rail and bus stations to airports, transportation hubs, and education facilities, collaborating with clients such as NYCT, MTA Bus, LIRR, PANYNJ, Amtrak, and local utilities.
Responsibilities- Project team management
- Business development, including teaming arrangements and proposals
- Client interaction, presentations, and liaison
- Contract development for traditional and alternative deliverable projects
- High‑level review of architectural designs and code compliance
- Ensure on‑time delivery of projects
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
- Bachelor of Architecture;
Master’s in Architecture a plus - 7 to 10 years of post‑education experience in architecture
- Registered Architect in New York
- Strong knowledge of local clients and agencies (Amtrak, MTA, NYC, LIRR, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of construction drawing standards, building codes, and ADA compliance
- Experience in transit architecture required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Self‑starter, able to work independently and multitask
- Professional licensure/certification required (e.g., NCARB)
- Experience with construction exposure and transportation industry a plus
- Detailed experience in architectural building design and rehabilitation with construction exposure
- Experience with in the transportation industry
- NCARB certification
Expected Salary: $98,300 – $175,230 (all locations).
