Responsibilities

Come join our enthusiastic team, helping to shape vibrant, sustainable, rich public spaces and natural landscapes, from resilient community parks to innovative athletic complexes. We are looking for a Senior Project Landscape Architect who brings strong technical expertise, practical construction knowledge, and the skills and ability to help shape open space and recreational landscapes across the East Coast. The ideal candidate is comfortable overseeing implementing complex project plan sets as they are developed from conceptual design ideas through construction.

You will play a key role assisting senior project managers of multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design. A background that includes athletic field design experience and construction implementation and oversight will be highly valued.

Qualifications

You will take ideas from sketch to implementation. This role is both creative and technical; you will help envision great public parks, sport complexes, recreational spaces, and make sure they get built.

What you'll do:

  • Assist project managers from concept to construction with confidence and curiosity. Anticipate design challenges, recommend smart solutions, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams through every phase. You will:
    • Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, and project partners to keep work moving and expectations aligned on behalf of a project manager
    • Visit sites, lead field investigations, and turn real‑world conditions into practical, buildable design solutions
    • Advance design thinking and strengthen our studio's creative culture through collaboration and critique
    • Produce and coordinate detailed plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates that balance craft with constructability
    • Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; lead punch walks and field reports; and mentor others through construction‑phase problem‑solving
  • Review your own work and help others do the same. Implement scopes, budgets, and schedules while keeping an eye on quality and detail. Lead coordination, track progress, and make sure every delivery meets both client goals and Weston & Sampson standards, and report updates to the project manager.
  • Be a collaborator. Provide constructive feedback, guide design development, and help junior staff build technical prowess. We encourage open communication and continuous improvement and learning across teams and offices.
  • Bring ideas to the table. Build relationships with clients through your project work.
  • Stay organized and initiative‑taking.…
