McBride Architects is a small, New York City–based architecture firm with over 40 years of practice, specializing in client-focused, high-end residential projects throughout the Northeast. We are seeking an Architectural Designer with 2–5 years of professional architectural experience in the United States, preferably with a background in residential architecture.
This is a full-time, temporary position for an initial six-month term, with the potential to become permanent.
Summary of Role & ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction and guidance of a Project Manager, you will be responsible for producing the bulk of the project documentation on projects (depending on project size) including schematic presentations, design development drawings, construction documents and construction administrative documents. You will be responsible for researching products, specifications and design details required for the above work. You will be responsible for communicating with all project counterparties including the internal design team, consultants, contractors, vendors and clients.
Minimum Requirements and Skills- Minimum BA or BArch degree in Architecture, MArch preferred
- 2-5 years architecture work experience in US
- AutoCAD and Revit proficiency required. Additionally, Rhino, Adobe Suite & Sketch‑up preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Self‑motivated and team oriented
- Fluency in English and authorization to work in US
