Senior Interior Architect | New York City

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global design-forward organization, for a Senior Interior Architect to join their New York City team. This is a highly visible, strategic role for an experienced interior architect who brings architectural thinking, spatial storytelling, and design leadership to branded environments and experiential spaces. While a working knowledge of 3D rendering is important, this position is first and foremost about vision, spatial strategy, and architectural design excellence.

You will be the sole internal Interior Architect, partnering with creative leadership and managing outsourced rendering partners, with the opportunity to shape how this capability evolves in-house.

The Senior Interior Architect is responsible for the conceptualization, design, and architectural execution of interior and experiential environments that support brand storytelling and marketing initiatives. Projects may include experiential installations, environmental vignettes, trade show environments, and other immersive spatial applications. You will collaborate closely with creative leadership, marketing partners, and external vendors—serving as the architectural point of contact from concept through execution.

• Lead the interior architectural and interior design vision for experiential and branded environments
• Translate creative briefs into thoughtful spatial concepts, layouts, and architectural solutions
• Develop big-picture design strategies while maintaining attention to detail through execution
• Produce and oversee interior architectural drawings, space plans, elevations, and design documentation
• Serve as the primary liaison for outsourced rendering partners, providing clear direction and design oversight
• Ensure renderings and visual assets align with architectural intent, brand standards, and creative objectives
• Collaborate with creative, marketing, and copy teams to deliver cohesive, compelling design solutions
• Partner with external agencies, fabricators, and vendors as needed
• Act as a steward of design excellence, ensuring all work meets high aesthetic and architectural standards
• Contribute to the evolution of brand and environmental design guidelines
• Mentor and elevate creative thinking across cross‑functional teams
• Incorporate feedback constructively while advocating for strong architectural solutions

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
• 10+ years of professional experience in interior architecture, experiential design, or environmental design
• Strong conceptual and big-picture thinker with the ability to translate strategy into space
• Working knowledge of 3D rendering workflows
• Experience directing or collaborating with external rendering teams
• Proficiency in architectural and design tools such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Solid Works, Blender, or Cinema 4D
• Strong portfolio demonstrating architectural thinking applied to interiors, environments, or experiential spaces
• Understanding of materials, construction methods, and spatial detailing
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working autonomously as the sole interior architecture lead
• Motion graphics, animation, or AI‑assisted design tools are a plus
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
