Overview
Site Works is a specialty landscape architecture practice that translates visionary landscape ideas into reality. We offer a range of technical services including design, executive landscape architecture, specification writing, cost estimating, operations and maintenance planning, construction planning, construction contract administration, and resident landscape architect services. We are seeking a mid-level designer for all phases of work on public realm projects including parks, waterfronts, streetscapes, plazas, roofscapes, interior landscapes, green infrastructure wetlands, and eco‑restoration areas.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Prepare schematic designs including 3d modeling and renderings under the direction of a project manager and the partners.
- Prepare construction documents under the direction of a project manager and the partners.
- Assist with area take‑offs and quantity estimating under the direction of lead cost estimator.
- Assist with construction oversight including field visits, site reports, photo logs, and meeting records.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
- 3‑5 years of experience in landscape architecture field.
- Demonstrated facility with Rhino for design visualization and project detailing.
- Demonstrated facility with AutoCAD for construction documentation.
- Demonstrated facility with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Keen problem‑solving and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Experience in developing concepts through design development and construction.
- Strong graphic communication skills in both 2D and 3D.
- Strong technical competencies in site design, grading, construction detailing.
- Understanding / experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and projects across multiple scales.
- Working knowledge of plant materials.
- RLA Registration or on the path to licensure.
- Experience using Revit, Bluebeam, Grasshopper, Enscape / Twinmotion or other 3D rendering software, ArcGIS is a plus.
- Experience with New York City, New York State, and New Jersey public agencies a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus.

We offer competitive compensation including holidays, three weeks of personal time off, health insurance, a 401K plan, and an annual continuing education allowance.
Our typical work week is 40 hours. After an introductory period, work is on a hybrid schedule, with staff working remotely on Mondays and Fridays, and in the office on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Remote days will vary as needed depending on project deadlines and client meetings. Full‑time in‑office work is acceptable at any time.
