Overview

The Designer of Technology Solutions is a trusted project implementation assistant to our Project Managers providing a valuable support mechanism in the planning, execution, and finalization of information technology project initiatives company wide. By utilizing our best-in-class project management standards, processes, and documentation, the Designer is a key project implementation resource for project managers providing pivotal assistance in all project phases.

• Minimum 2yrs experience working as a Designer under the direct or indirect supervision of a Project Manager.
• 4-year Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Polished communication skills (both verbal & writing).
• Highly organized and composed under pressure.
• Must be able to manage strict timelines with multiple projects to meet deadlines under high-pressure environment.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Advanced working knowledge in AutoCAD & REVIT.

Level 2 (Intermediate Proficiency)

• Thoroughly understands all company drawing conventions & filing standards.
• Well-versed in basic technology design for telecommunications, security, audiovisual, etc.
• The ability to design technology drawings with minimal supervision and final review from senior staff.
• The ability to produce and design drawings in AutoCAD as well as Revit.
• Basic knowledge of iBwave.
• Ability to train and guide Junior Designers and Interns.
• Ability to collaborate with the design team (clients, architects, and MEPs) and produce meeting minutes.
• Ability to produce a body of design of the technology requirements with minimal supervision and final review from senior staff.
• Design technology room fit out and coordination of MEP and architectural elements within the technology rooms.
• Perform calculations including cable conduit fills, heat loads, and power receptacle requirements for technology equipment.
• Develops and understands ceiling plans, floor plans and riser diagrams.

Level 2 (Intermediate Proficiency)

• Demonstrated ability to develop professional drawing templates.
• Demonstrated ability to create multi-scale views on one page.
• Demonstrated ability using trans-spatial text and dimensions.
• Demonstrated ability utilizing object and layer filtering.
• Demonstrated ability using global editing entities.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and apply methods to accurately create complex geometry.
• Demonstrated ability to streamline repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to create custom line types.
• Demonstrated ability to use special fonts.
• Demonstrated ability to ably work with Revit view templates, and graphically create pdf files per project demands.
• Demonstrated ability to ably update models and run coordination review tool for revisions.
• Demonstrated ability to ably create parameters for title blocks, for B-Scan numbering, and for construction document numbering.
• Demonstrated ability to support team members with creation of Revit families.

Project Management

• Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the application of the fundamentals of Project Management. Understands advanced Project Management techniques. Instrumental in the execution of project tasks. Thoroughly understands the company project lifecycle, company design and filing standards, and has a track record of demonstrated excellence in the ability to use the company’s tools and applications to execute project deliverables. Demonstrated excellence in ability to understand and consistently execute drawing set-ups, project design standards, project filing standards, issue sheets, project phasing and project archiving standards.

• Devotes time and effort to building relationships and looks for ways to leverage expertise and contacts to solve problems, gain knowledge and develop new business.
