Freelance Menswear Technical Designer

Our client is working on a technical design role at a top fashion company working on men's RTW. Working for at least 3 plus months to start supporting a few brands. Brands are active/sport and streetwear inspired. Woven and knits.

Role is in midtown and need help for 25-35 hours approximately a week based on workload.

• Work closely with Design to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction.
• Conduct fit sessions, making recommendations for fit and construction issues.
• Collect and advise fit sample comments to vendors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on style and fit approval process to meet all deadlines. Address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designers.
• Own communication of development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches and/or pattern corrections.
• Make recommendations on how to organize and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines.
• Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction
• Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented; highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, balance creativity with technical capability, and interpret design sketches for tech packs

• Minimum 5 to 7 years experiences in technical design of men’s apparel.
• Design or SrTech Design level.
• Working on woven and knit categories.
• Able to work independently and high volume of product.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM and Adobe products.
