Overview

The Designer supports the Creative and Marketing teams in a hybrid onsite role for a luxury beauty client based in New York City. The role involves assisting with production, creation, and adaptation of graphic elements, including production files, 2D & 3D rendering, graphic strips, displays, print & POS design. The Designer oversees architectural aspects related to retail environments such as shop-in-shop setups, free-standing stores, pop-up events, and trade shows.

A background in architecture is required. The role also involves designing and overseeing brick-and-mortar stores and shop-in-shop setups. A keen eye for beauty and fashion is essential.

• Strong graphical skills with understanding of architectural design.
• Develop graphics, some architectural drawings, 3D renders, and presentation boards to convey construction, design intent, and merchandising requirements of retail environments and fixtures.
• Collaborate effectively within a team while taking initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner, maintaining a sense of urgency when needed to meet deadlines.
• Aid in the creation, development, adaptation, and execution of new design efforts for retail fixtures, store layouts, visuals, store displays, graphic applications, and overall creative efforts for retail stores, shop-in-shop, chains, pop-ups, and trade shows.
• Develop 3D renderings and design intent drawings for internal meetings, vendors, and stores for local execution; proficiency in Sketch Up is essential.
• Build print-ready files for direct submission to print vendors for prototypes.
• Maintain calendars and timelines to ensure timely rollout of all materials; stay highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Assist with printing/production, proofing, and press checks; keep files organized on servers for easy retrieval; maintain brand consistency across touchpoints.
• Take direction well, be open to feedback, and communicate ideas clearly and concisely; collaborate with cross-functional partners and internal teams.
• Demonstrate strong technical skills with understanding of how to develop structures and displays; excellent layout and design capabilities with attention to detail.
• Prepare production-ready files and follow file naming and storage protocols; stay up to date with industry developments and tools.
• Function effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and contribute creatively to the team.

• 5+ years of solid graphic, store, and fixture design experience, preferably in retail or beauty, with a degree in graphic design/architectural design or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field.
• Retail merchandising experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Sketch Up is required.
• Exceptional Adobe Creative Suite fluency (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• AutoCAD skills.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $95,000 - $112,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
