Technical Designer - Contemporary Brand

Our client, a contemporary women’s ready-to-wear brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to support both product development & production. This role will work closely with the Creative Director, production team, and overseas vendors to ensure garments are technically accurate, well-fitting, and true to the design vision.

Responsibilities:

• Support technical development from initial concept through approved sample and production.
• Develop specifications, measurements, construction details, and fit standards.
• Conduct fit sessions, review samples, and provide detailed fit comments and corrections.
• Partner with the Creative Director and vendors through multiple rounds of samples and revisions.
• Review production samples and ensure approved fit and design standards are maintained.
• Troubleshoot technical and fit issues with Production and overseas vendors.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical design experience within women’s luxury or contemporary ready-to-wear, evening wear, and outerwear.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, pattern making, and grading.
• Experience conducting fit sessions and providing clear, actionable fit comments.
• Ability to read and interpret tech packs, patterns, and garment specifications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
