The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician Assistant in our Urology Clinic for the Rochester VA Clinic. - Manages a panel of urologic patients.
- Obtains patient histories and performs physical examinations focused on the genitourinary system.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests such as urinalysis, imaging studies (e.g., ultrasound, CT, MRI), and laboratory results relevant to urologic disorders.
- Manages chronic urologic conditions, including urinary tract infections, benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney stones, and post‑operative care.
- Participates in patient education, counseling, and follow‑up care coordination in collaboration with the supervising urologist.
- Documents all care provided in the medical record and submits charts for review as agreed upon with the supervising physician.
- Exercises sound clinical judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising urologist, or other health care professionals.
- Facilitates response/actions to patient inquiries about care and treatment received by the Urology service.

- Full qualification and certification to function in a clinical role in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System.
- Delegated authority to assume clinical, consultation, education, research, and administrative duties related to the patients and staff of the Urology Service.
- Available to work at the direction of the Supervising Urologist.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- U.S. citizenship required; non‑citizens may be appointed if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible.
- Required to pass a pre‑employment physical, drug test, and background/security investigation.
- Ability to obtain REAL‑ driver’s license or state‑issued identification card.
- Required to participate in the seasonal influenza vaccination program.
