Overview
Full time position is available for a psychologist to work in transplant as part of the Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry division. The clinician will be primarily assigned to work in renal transplantation and work alongside transplant nephrologists, nurse practitioners and social workers in a liaison‑role. Most of the work will be in the outpatient clinic setting with some inpatient consultation.
ResponsibilitiesThe applicant should have experience with conducting diagnostic interviews and administering and reviewing scales. Appropriate knowledge of both cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well across disciplines and function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Additional preferences:
- Interest in the psychological care of patients with medical illness
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting
- Interest in academic as well as clinical psychiatry
- Interest in research and quality improvement
- Bilingual in Spanish
- PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology
- New York State license required (New Jersey license may be required)
- For psychologists, Instructor level requires graduation from an APA‑accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, and completion of an APA‑accredited pre‑doctoral internship program.
