Chief Medical Officer

• Provides comprehensive medical care to patients 6 months and older in ambulatory settings.
• Conducts consultations, reviews records, researches information, and develops care recommendations.
• Adheres to professional standards, practice policies, federal, state, and local requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Works collaboratively with other staff to develop diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribes or administers treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized care.
• Orders, performs, and interprets tests; analyzes records to diagnose patient conditions.
• Obtains and maintains hospital privileges at Nassau University Medical Center for hospital care of LIFQHC patients.
• Records and maintains patient information such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
• Monitors patients’ conditions, progresses, and re‑evaluates treatments as necessary.
• Reviews health risk assessments to help determine a plan of care.
• Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Refers patients to specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
• Participates in LEAN and other activities to implement the multi‑disciplinary patient‑centered medical home approach.
• Updates knowledge through continuing medical education, professional publications, and organizations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and licensed to practice in New York State.
• Board certified or board eligible status.
• Preferred 1–2 years of clinical experience.
• Ability to travel to other sites for coverage as needed.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole/French required.

Base pay range: $170,000 – $210,000 per year. Salary commensurate with experience.
