Pediatric Surgeon Opportunity – Maimonides Infants and Children's Hospital, Brooklyn, NY
Maimonides Infants and Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in Brooklyn, is seeking a pediatric surgeon to join a busy, well-established service of three pediatric surgeons. This is a clinically focused position with significant operative volume across neonatal surgery, general pediatric surgery, trauma, and oncology.
Our high-acuity neonatal service covers nearly 7,000 inborn deliveries annually, ranking among the highest in New York State, and is supported by a robust maternal-fetal medicine program. We offer a 48-bed Level IV NICU, serving as a regional referral center. Our Children’s Hospital features a full complement of medical and surgical pediatric subspecialties, including pediatric anesthesiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, ENT, orthopedics and others.
We are an active member of the Children’s Oncology Group and an ACS-accredited Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, supported by an 11-bed PICU and 25-bed general pediatrics floor.
The pediatric surgery service is fully staffed with junior and senior surgical residents and two experienced nurse practitioners.
Maimonides Infants and Children’s Hospital is located within a modern, state-of-the-art wing of Maimonides Medical Center — Brooklyn’s premier treatment and academic facility. Serving a borough of 2.7 million residents, including approximately 600,000 children, the institution boasts 21 operating rooms equipped with advanced laparoscopic capabilities and five Da Vinci Xi robots. A brand-new 40+ bed pediatric emergency department is opened in November 2025.
This is a hospital-employed position offering a competitive salary range of $450,000–$650,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Applicant must be board eligible/certified in Pediatric Surgery.
