Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon – Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates a world‑renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, serving 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Opportunity Details
  • Provide inpatient/outpatient surgical and non‑surgical care
  • Perform surgery on complex orthopedic trauma cases:
    • Pelvic fractures, long bone and intra‑articular fractures, upper/lower extremity trauma
  • Serve as Orthopedic Trauma Service Chief and liaison to multi‑disciplinary trauma committee
  • Participate in:
    • Emergency call schedule (24/7 coverage per ACS Level 1 Trauma standards)
    • ACS trauma activities (data collection, compliance, trauma meetings)
    • Quality programs (required by hospital and American College of Surgeons)
  • Conduct critical review of orthopedic consultations from Emergency Department and inpatient units
  • Lead and mentor orthopedic surgery residents, medical students, physician assistants, and other staff
Qualifications
  • Board Eligible/Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Fellowship‑trained in Orthopedic Trauma
  • New York State Physician License
  • Advanced expertise in pelvic/intra‑articular fractures, osteomyelitis, bone defect, limb lengthening, non‑unions, and other complex pathologies
  • French/Haitian Creole language skills preferred, but not required
Wages and Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $519,000 based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $632,000
. This includes baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors.

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $78,000.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous annual paid time off (PTO): vacation, sick, holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, prescription, and dental coverage: top‑tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) coverage: equal to 2x salary (up to $300,000) provided at no cost.
  • Additional employee‑paid voluntary life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan forgiveness: position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical malpractice coverage (equivalent to occurrence‑based): provided at no cost to the employee.

  • Pre‑tax employee‑paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
