The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast. We are seeking applicants for two full‑time Academic Surgical Pathologist positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join a staff of 25 Surgical Pathologists. Candidates should have subspecialty fellowship training in GI/Liver Pathology. The Division of Surgical Pathology practices a "hybrid" model of subspecialty sign‑out which allows for a combination of 2 or more subspecialties.

The Department receives approximately 66,000 surgical pathology specimens per year.

Responsibilities include:

• Clinical services in surgical pathology, including interpretation of specimens.
• Interaction with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams.
• Teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students.
• Participation in residency training program and other educational activities.
• Engagement in collaborative and translational research opportunities (encouraged).

Qualifications:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in AP/CP or A/P.
• Subspecialty fellowship training in GI/Liver Pathology.
• NY State Medical License (or ability to obtain).
• Strong diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication abilities.
