Position Summary
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Collaborative Care Psychiatrist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi Medical Center is a modern, state‑of‑the‑art, Level 1 Trauma Center located in an attractive and safe residential Bronx neighborhood, just 20 minutes north of Manhattan. Jacobi Medical Center is affiliated with North Central Bronx Hospital and a teaching site and academic affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
It offers a full continuum of Acute Care Inpatient and Outpatient Services in diverse Medical and Surgical Specialties, including Psychiatry.
The Department of Psychiatry has 89 adult acute inpatient beds, a CPEP, a Consultation Liaison Service, an Adult Ambulatory Practice, and a Community‑Based Assertive Community Treatment Program. - Provide care for a diverse and challenging group of Internal Medicine patients in a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home.
- Work alongside a group of internal medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers and case managers providing consultative, as well as direct patient care.
- Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, interviews, medical histories, observations, and psychological testing to diagnose patients.
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications.
- Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
- Develop a treatment plan and measure progress.
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans.
- Opportunities for Departmental Representation, Research, and Leadership Education.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry.
- License to practice medicine in the State of New York.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Superior clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal communication.

Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690** (board eligible) and $450,020** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
- Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
