We are currently looking for a Neurologist to join us at our Bronx Clinic, supporting adults with developmental disabilities. This need is ONE DAY PER MONTH (9am-4:30pm). There is a possibility to also support our Brooklyn Clinic, three days per month, if able and interested in additional hours.

SUMMARYUnder the general direction of the Clinic Administrator and Medical Director, the Neurologist is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological disorders in pediatric and adult individuals supported by ADAPT Community Network. This role provides comprehensive neurological care in accordance with professional standards, agency policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Neurologist collaborates closely with primary care providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality, and person-centered medical care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of the Neurologist include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conducts comprehensive neurological examinations and assessments for pediatric and adult individuals.
- Diagnoses disorders and diseases of the nervous system using clinical evaluation, medical history, and diagnostic testing.
- Determines and implements appropriate courses of treatment for neurological conditions, including medication management and therapeutic recommendations.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and procedures necessary to evaluate neurological conditions.
- Prescribes medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with New York State law and professional standards.
- Refers individuals to medical specialists and ancillary services as clinically indicated.
- Collaborates with primary care clinicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and continuous care.
- Provides consultation to other medical and dental staff when hazardous procedures are contemplated or when complications arise outside of their scope of expertise.
- Seeks consultation as necessary to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based care.
- Responds to medical emergencies as authorized, providing treatment when delay could result in serious harm or threat to life.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality assurance activities as required.
- Ensures confidentiality and privacy of all medical information in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Adheres to ethical principles, professional standards of conduct, and ADAPT Community Network’s mission and values.
- Maintains continuous care of assigned patients and refrains from delegating diagnostic or treatment responsibilities to unqualified or unsupervised personnel.
- Keeps current with advances in neurological care, treatment modalities, and best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
