Overview
The Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, in collaboration with Och Spine at New York-Presbyterian, seeks a board-certified/board-eligible academic neurosurgeon (Assistant or Associate Professor), fellowship-trained in complex spine and/or spinal deformity surgery, to join our regional network. The successful candidate will be based at New York-Presbyterian/Queens, where they will grow a practice in complex spine surgery. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and participation in the Faculty Physician Organization.

Responsibilities
• Maintain a clinical practice in complex spine surgery.
• Participate in clinical research focused on advancing spine surgery techniques and outcomes.
• Contribute to the education and training of residents, medical students, and fellows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across orthopedic surgery, pain management, and rehabilitation medicine.
• Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
•
Basic qualifications:
MD from an accredited institution; completion of an ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency; fellowship training in complex spine and/or spinal deformity surgery; board certification or eligibility in Neurological Surgery (ABNS); demonstrated experience in teaching residents and medical students; evidence of clinical research contributions;
New York State medical license (or eligibility); DEA certification; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications:
expertise demonstrating innovation in spinal surgery techniques or devices; experience with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives; language proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is:
Assistant Professor: $421,655–$803,112;
Associate Professor: $367,442–$943,197. This range excludes benefits and any incentive payments based on quality measures and productivity that may apply. The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine, with rank commensurate with experience and scholarly accomplishments. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
