Robert Wood Johnson Medical School New Brunswick in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Neuro-Intensivist to participate in and lead a multi-disciplinary team in the clinical care of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, as well as the educational and research mission of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.
The Intensivist will attend Critical Care, Stroke, Endovascular, Neurosurgical and General Neurology committee meetings as needed and play a key role in the guidance and improvement of performance and patient care. Preferred candidates will participate in the teaching mission of RWJMS/RWJUH through teaching trainees, including fellows in Critical Care, Vascular Neurology, residents in Neurology and Neurosurgery, APP trainees, and students in the above disciplines.
Interested physicians will be responsible for direct and indirect (on-call) supervision of a multi-disciplinary clinical team.
- Completion of fellowship training with board certification or board eligibility in Neurocritical Care through ABPN, UCNS, and/or CAST
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ
- Participate and manage the care of neurological and neurosurgical patients needing intensive care. Providing clinical expertise to ensure quality standards are met
- Supervise a multi-disciplinary clinical team, which may include APPs, APNs, PAs, and house staff
- Assess the appropriateness of transferring patients for specialty care in conjunction with the transfer center
- Teaching and research responsibilities may occur in both inpatient and outpatient settings, in small group seminars, or in formal lectures
