OverviewMontefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking an Academic Surgical Pathologist with a GI/Liver Subspecialty. The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast.
We are seeking an applicant for a full-time position. Interested candidates should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in AP/CP or A/P and have or be able to obtain a NY State Medical License.
ResponsibilitiesCandidates should possess solid diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and strong communication abilities. Responsibilities include clinical services in surgical pathology, interactions with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams, involvement in the residency training program and medical student education, and other activities.
Participation in the GI/Liver Pathology (ACGME approved) fellowship is expected. Collaborative and translational research opportunities are available and encouraged.
RequirementsThe position requires fellowship training and/or extensive (5+ years) experience with evidence of scholarly activity. The Division of Surgical Pathology practices a hybrid model of subspecialty sign-out, which allows for a combination of 2 or more subspecialties and receives approximately 66,000 surgical pathology specimens/year.
