Take the next step in your career as a physician leader with an academic-affiliated health network entering an exciting phase of growth. This role combines hands‑on clinical practice with site medical director responsibilities, offering the chance to help shape a comprehensive, accredited cancer program from a leadership seat.
What You'll Do:- Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of patients with malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders
- Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards alongside surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and supportive care teams
- Serve as physician leader for the local hematology‑oncology program
- Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination
Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers - Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety, and patient experience
- Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings
- Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on strategic and operational priorities
- MD with active NY medical license
- Board certified in Medical Oncology; board certified or eligible in Hematology
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology post‑fellowship
- Prior leadership experience (site director, medical director, or similar) strongly preferred
- Competitive compensation: $400,000–$620,000 (base + RVU)
- Balanced schedule: 3-4 clinical days plus 1 admin day per week
- Dedicated nursing and MA support staff
- Leadership role within a rapidly growing, academic-affiliated cancer program
