Location: New York

Description

We are currently seeking experienced MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating various acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring the well-being of individuals in critical conditions. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse cases, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and make a significant impact on patient outcomes.

As an MD or DO in Emergency Medicine, you will be involved in fast-paced and dynamic projects that require quick thinking, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities:
  • Rapidly assess and prioritize patient conditions in emergency situations
  • Perform medical procedures such as intubation, wound care, and fracture reductions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to determine the appropriate course of treatment
  • Administer medications and treatments following established protocols
  • Coordinate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients' conditions and treatment plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment options
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in emergency medicine
Requirements:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine settings
  • Advanced knowledge of acute care procedures and protocols
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills

Schedule:

3x 12-hour shifts per week

No call required

Annual Volume: 98,000 patients

Daily Volume: 1.5-2 patients per hour

38-bed ED

STEMI & stroke center

EMR:
Sunrise & Dragon dictation

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
