FULL-TIME TEACHING FACULTY SEARCH (OPEN-RANK TEACHING PROFESSOR), ITHACA CAMPUS

The Cornell University Department of Information Science (IS) invites applications for full‑time, long‑term, open‑rank Teaching Professor positions at Cornell’s Ithaca campus. The IS department is interdisciplinary, covering data science, artificial intelligence, human‑computer interaction, natural language processing, ubiquitous computing, user‑experience design, tech‑law policy, and more.

Teaching faculty will be full‑time (100%) members of IS, expected to teach two courses per semester. Initial appointments are either a three‑year Assistant or a five‑year Associate/Full teaching professor on a non‑tenured professional track with renewal and promotion potential.

Responsibilities include developing new courses, teaching existing courses (e.g., web programming, human‑interaction, data science, information ethics), and contributing to curriculum design and department governance. Experience and commitment to online or distance learning are valued.

Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent in Information Science, Computer Science, or related area by August 2026; demonstrated teaching excellence and strong commitment to student learning.
