Overview

25-26 Hiring:
Leave Replacement Math Teacher - High School at CHAPPAQUA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT. The district serves six schools in Westchester County, with approximately 3500 students. We are seeking excellent educators who can provide high-quality instruction and build authentic, supportive relationships with students. We are committed to hiring an inclusive teaching staff to create warm, joyful, student-centered, and welcoming schools. The leave replacement position is for Horace Greeley High School, effective immediately.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality instruction in mathematics for high school students, with content ranging from algebra through calculus.
  • Design learning activities that apply mathematics to real-world contexts using an inquiry-based approach.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional well-being of students and nurtures belonging.
  • Implement evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills (knowledge of the RULER approach preferred).
  • Use current educational research to inform instructional practices and ensure lessons are grounded in evidence-based methods.
  • Administer formative assessments regularly to gauge student understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Analyze formative and summative data to tailor instruction and address individual learning needs.
  • Incorporate culturally relevant practices and diverse perspectives into curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Engage in regular, collaborative professional development to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Use New York State standards as a foundation for setting clear learning goals and expectations for students.
Qualifications
  • New York State Certification as a Mathematics Teacher Gr. 7-12
  • Successful teaching experience in mathematics at the high school level is preferred.
