Operations Coordinator
Designed to support the school operations team in the day‑to‑day functioning of KIPP Capital Region schools located in Albany and Troy, NY. This role helps maintain a welcoming, efficient learning environment for students, families, and staff.
Position OverviewThe Operations Coordinator supports the Director of Operations by coordinating school logistics, managing facility requests, assisting with student information, and fostering strong relationships with families and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate school activities involving staff, parents, and students, and support the Director of Operations.
- Respond to teacher support requests and assist with classroom needs.
- Plan and execute school‑wide events and fundraisers.
- Coordinate purchasing, distribution, and inventory for field trips, uniforms, office supplies, and teacher supplies.
- Support the School Nutrition Program (meal application entry, meal calendar submission, daily meal count reports, compliance documentation).
- Assist daily attendance procedures and collaborate with the Registrar to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate attendance expectations to families and support ADA goals.
- Support all school‑based communication systems (e.g., Power School).
- Maintain a tidy, organized office environment.
- Oversee completion of facilities requests and collaborate with janitorial staff.
- Manage trash removal, recycling, and copier requests.
- Assist in preparing facilities for the school year (bulletin boards, signage).
- Build relationships with families, keeping them informed and addressing their needs.
- Translate and distribute school correspondence, including letters, memos, and bulletins.
- Assist in translating parent meetings, including IEP sessions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date emergency medical, contact, and immunization records in the student database.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of office files and student information.
- Manage enrollment packets, family communication, and lottery records.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Adhere to all charter, federal, state, and local laws, including NYS Department of Education, Department of Health, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

- Pass a Criminal Background Check.
- High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred).
- At least one year of experience working directly with students, preferably in charter, private, or public schools.
- Experience with office procedures: filing, telephone etiquette, photocopying, visitor greeting, confidential information handling.
- Prior experience in school and urban community settings (preferred).
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to access and navigate all areas of the school.
- Close and distant vision, color, peripheral vision, depth perception; adjust focus as needed.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Stand, walk, sit, use fingers to type, handle tools, reach, climb stairs, bend, kneel, and walk as needed for job duties.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

Competitive salary ranging from $57,500 to $63,000 for this exempt role. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for relevant experience and tenure within the KIPP network, with final placement at hiring.
