The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for a Lecturer of Geography and Environmental Sustainability starting Fall 2025.
The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability is searching for a candidate who can help teach courses that support our programs in Environmental Sustainability and Geography. Our department works to actively engage students in experiential learning including field courses and study abroad opportunities. Our faculty are actively engaged in scholarship in areas related to Geography and Environmental Sustainability. We are a growing and dynamic department, working to incorporate state-of-the-art approaches.

- Teaching courses in environmental sustainability, primarily at the introductory and intermediate levels.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Geography, Environmental Sustainability, or related field by time of appointment (ABD considered).
- Ability to teach introductory and intermediate courses in Geography and Environmental Sustainability.
Preferred:
- Certifications or credentials in GIS, remote sensing, or related expertise in geospatial technology.
- Expertise in human geography areas, including economic geography and the geography of culture and the environment
- Ability to teach environmental sustainability and remote sensing
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multicultural populations
