SUMMARY
The Workforce Development Administrator provides administrative and operational support for the Museum’s Eco Explorer Internship and Aviation Academy Internship programs. This position helps ensure seamless implementation of all aspects of the internships including recruitment, onboarding, training, mentorship, scheduling, field excursions, and overall program logistics for high school interns pursuing career pathways in environmental sustainability and aviation. The Workforce Development Administrator works closely with the Environmental Program Manager and Aviation Academy Manager to support high-quality learning experiences that fuel workforce readiness and STEM engagement and equally provide administrative and project oversight to the Strategic Initiatives Department, contributing to the museum’s broader mission-driven initiatives and partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma. Bachelors in education, environmental science, aviation, or another STEM-related field preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a museum, educational, or program coordination setting. Must demonstrate knowledge of STEM career fields, particularly environmental issues related to South Florida and the physical sciences related to aviation. Management experience in hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and organizing staff or volunteers is preferred.
Requires strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; self-motivation; and the ability to think creatively and solve problems. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift 50 lbs. This position requires availability during Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) out-of-school days — including weekends, some holidays, and BCPS closures — to successfully operate the Eco Explorer and Aviation Academy Internship programs.
