Intermediate Phase Head

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:

• An appropriate academic and professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Experience as a Grade Head or Subject Head would be an advantage.
• Current SACE registration.
• Relevant experience with CAPS curriculum
• A clear criminal record.

• Working together with the Executive Head, Head of Primary School and school leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning practice.
• Performing the duties of a teacher and phase head.
• Promoting a healthy process of reciprocal informal observation of class teaching practices.
• Advising and contributing to curriculum development at school.
• Coordinating the teaching and learning of the phase.
• Setting examination papers, coordinating marking rosters and moderating examinations and assessment processes.
• Mentoring other teachers in the phase.
• Holding and leading regular departmental meetings and ensuring the keeping of minutes.
• Actively assisting theHead of Primary in ensuring good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching and learning of subject/s in the school through proper dialogue with the class teachers.
• Personal commitment to education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the school.

Commitment to the school’s ethos, values and vision are essential. This position is a full time, permanent position. Curro Hillcrest has a strong Christian foundation, and the successful candidate must be willing to promote and support this foundation.

The successful candidate will start on 01 July 2025.
