Pupil Personnel Services

Salary: Days 1-20 $ 130 per day; day 21 onward appropriate step placement on the teachers' schedule, retroactive to day 1

Minimum Qualifications
  • NYS Certification as a School Psychologist
  • Experience chairing CSE meetings
  • Experience conducting psycho educational reevaluations
Primary Activities
  • Chairperson for CSE meetings (out-of-district and district-of-location)
  • Case Management for out-of-district placements
  • Conduct psycho educational reevaluations, as assigned
  • Types and reviews IEPs
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, as required by district procedures and applicable laws
  • Note:

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations in the area of Special Education
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit
  • Regularly required to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to reach above the head and reach forward
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and to talk and hear
  • At times, required to work at a height of 20 feet or more to perform job duties
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds
  • Must have specific vision abilities for close vision, distance vision, depth perception and color difference
Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is typical for a school environment
  • The role involves interaction with the public and staff and managing multiple demands
  • Work generally performed indoors
