Position Summary

Assistant Professor, Studio Art Illustration (9‑month, tenure‑earning) at UCF, College of Arts and Humanities, School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD). Anticipated start August 2026.

• Deliver three undergraduate‑level courses per semester in studio art illustration, inspiring majors.
• Develop and update curricula, incorporating representational and conceptual illustration, traditional and digital media.
• Conduct scholarly research in illustration and related fields.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service.
• Maintain regular office hours and engage with students and community.

• MFA in Illustration or closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in representational and conceptual illustration.
• Proficiency in traditional and digital media; ability to teach techniques.
• Evidence of effective college‑level teaching experience in illustration or related studio courses.

• Active record of professional practice, exhibitions, publications, or peer‑reviewed creative research.
• Experience teaching both traditional and digital illustration at undergraduate level.
• Proficiency with industry‑standard digital tools.
• Ability to integrate contemporary practices (e.g., comics, editorial illustration, character design).
• Community or professional outreach experience connecting illustration to broader audiences.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills in a diverse environment.
