Our client, a Yeshiva located in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a highly experienced Assistant Principal. The school is expanding, and this position will play an integral role in assisting the Principal with direction, leadership, and day‑to‑day management of educational activities. Fluency in Hebrew and English is required.
- Job Type: Full‑time Permanent role
- Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year
- Assist the Principal in the development, implementation, improvement, and evaluation of the instructional program in accordance with the school's mission statement.
- Provide instructional leadership by staying current in instructional techniques and technology.
- Work as part of a collaborative leadership team in school administration.
- Assist in the evaluation of student academic performance and provide leadership to improve performance.
- Conduct parent and student meetings and attend all school activities.
- Supervise instructional programs of the school, evaluate lesson plans, and observe classes (teaching, as duties allow).
- Assist in screening, interviewing, and recommending employment and contractual status of staff.
- Mentor, assess, and supervise teachers.
- Assist in the coordination and development of the curriculum.
- Work with the principal to implement new programs into the curriculum.
- Partner with parents to provide children with optimal levels of challenge.
- Assist staff in developing appropriate responses to student behavior.
- Support school/community organizations.
- Develop and maintain positive communication with the community.
- Master’s degree or higher, preferably in educational administration or rabbinical ordination.
- Seven to ten years of successful, highly qualified teaching experience in education.
- Experience with school administration and internal operations.
- Strong skills in culturally relevant education and a demonstrated ability to work with teachers, staff, and the community to maximize student achievement.
- Ability to implement policy‑based progressive discipline with consistent and equitable conflict‑resolution skills.
- Effective communication skills to support staff evaluation, school‑wide strategic planning, and professional development activities.
- Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technologies; MS Office required, proficiency with Excel and spreadsheets required.
- Collaborative, with strong communication and interpersonal skills; works well as part of a team.
- Detail‑oriented and highly organized.
- Fluency in Hebrew and English.
