Academic Program Coordinator - Clerkship Coordinator - Curriculum Support (REVISED) at The City University of New York School of Medicine (SoM) in Harlem, New York.

The CUNY School of Medicine, located in the heart of Harlem, is the only public medical school in Manhattan, offering accelerated BS/MD and Physician Assistant programs. Its mission emphasizes diversity, cultural competence, and service to underserved communities.

Reporting To

Associate Dean for Curriculum & Assessment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical educational activities for third- and fourth-year MD students across multiple clinical sites.
  • Maintain records and manage the database of M3 students; prepare and post clerkship materials in academic management systems.
  • Communicate with students, residents, faculty, and staff to provide assistance with course support, LCMS access, clerkship location confirmation, evaluation processes, and related concerns.
  • Develop working relationships with Clerkship Directors, Office of Medical Education, Office of Student Affairs, Registrar, and fellow Clerkship Coordinators.
  • Download and record student logs of required patient experiences, online evaluations, attendance records, and submit all materials to the Clerkship Director.
  • Arrange meetings and facilitate communication between the Clerkship Director and other stakeholders, including the end‑of‑Clerkship OSCE team.
  • Submit the Student Rotation List to the Evaluation Coordinator no later than one week before the end of each rotation.
  • Coordinate seminars, reserve rooms, and distribute course materials to lecturers, preceptors, and students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two years' experience in medical education (preferably in a hospital setting) highly desired.
  • Extensive experience working with MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Forms.
  • Working knowledge of LCMS systems such as LEO, E‑Medley, Online Diagnosis Tracking System, and Educational Evaluation System.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with all levels of faculty and staff within and beyond CSOM.
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently.
Title Overview

Assistant to HEO. Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a college's specialized academic program. Manages office records, prepares reports and surveys, collects and maintains statistical data, serves as liaison to college offices, reviews syllabi for compliance, serves as resource for students and faculty, and performs related duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $48,647 – $84,815;
Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY benefits include health plans, retirement/pension, tuition waivers for graduate study, paid time off, and access to campus academic, arts, and athletic programs.
