General Duties
  • Sets up, maintains, and organizes student laboratories
  • Assists students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
  • Maintains appropriate safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintains required documentation related to laboratory activities
  • Manages equipment and materials inventories
Theater Duties
  • Perform technical duties in support of coursework for on‑campus theater courses including Stagecraft, Theater Production Workshop, Acting I & II, Directing or the Stage, and Introduction to Design for Theater.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator and supervisor for all Theater Program productions, overseeing logistics, scheduling, and technical execution from pre‑production through closing.
  • Assist students with technical theater skills acquisition and other learning exercises.
  • Assist students with the use of theatrical equipment and shop materials.
  • Set‑up, maintain, and organize Theater Program spaces including the Blackbox (a shared space only used 50% of the time), prop room, and control booth.
  • Maintain appropriate safety standards.
  • Manage the purchase, inventory and maintenance of equipment and materials for productions and classes.
  • Coordinate with the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, the professional theater on campus.
  • Assist Theater Program with administrative tasks including updating student database, submitting work orders, creating contracts for guest artists, creating and maintaining calendar.
  • Manage small team of personnel including a college assistant, and an adjunct CLT.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in production management and/or stage management
  • Proficient in computer programs:
    Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external partners.
  • Evidence of continued, appropriate professional development
  • Flexible work hours required.
Compensation

$52,040 - $68,217

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
