Academic SEEK Student Support Counselor (HEOa) (SEEK Program)
The Academic SEEK Student Support Counselor reports directly to the SEEK Program Director and provides comprehensive academic support to SEEK students who may otherwise not be able to attend college.
Responsibilities- Conduct outreach to students flagged for academic risk, registration issues, financial aid holds, and other barriers to success.
- Assess students’ academic, personal, and career development needs.
- Support SEEK’s enrollment, advisement, and retention processes, including new‑student onboarding, orientation, and ongoing touchpoints.
- Build strong partnerships with faculty, academic departments, and administrative units to address barriers to student success.
- Create and oversee programming that enhances student skill‑building, personal development, and learning outcomes.
- Assist with implementing targeted retention campaigns, progression initiatives, and academic interventions.
- Provide personal, career, and educational advising to individuals and groups; maintain student files and contact data.
- Initiate, develop, and deliver workshops, panels, presentations, and special programs that support students’ growth and coordinate retention services with campus partners.
- Advocate for the needs and concerns of SEEK students, ensuring access to appropriate support services and accommodations.
- Participate in program planning and assessment.
- Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., counseling, guidance, social work, or psychology) and two years’ related experience.
- Experience implementing student support, enrollment, and retention strategies, including academic success coaching, intrusive advising, case management, or similar high‑touch student engagement models.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, follow through on tasks, and proactively identify and resolve student concerns.
- Ability to work productively in a dynamic student‑focused and customer‑responsive environment.
- Familiarity and comfort with CRM and collegiate case‑management systems.
- Minimum of 5–6 years of progressively responsible experience in counseling, academic advisement, student success, or related student‑services roles.
- Proficiency in educational technology, learning management systems, and data analytics tools.

$86,741 - $94,909 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.
