• Develop and apply a deep understanding of Bold’s goals, vision, and values to build a culture of purpose and impact.
• Teach a rigorous Chess curriculum, leading introductory classes at the lower grades and progressing to more advanced instruction at the middle and high school levels.
• Drive outcomes for all students by regularly analyzing data, assessing student performance, and implementing high‑leverage instructional strategies.
• Coach and develop students to participate in competitive environments; develop ongoing opportunities for students to compete against peers from other top‑performing schools at the local, state, and national levels.
• Train with colleagues and school leaders, which includes regularly implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement, a values‑based school culture, and a positive, professional work environment.
• Develop strong relationships with families and students; lead and organize ongoing family events, internal tournaments, and communications that create high levels of investment in academic and personal achievement.
• Demonstrate a mission‑first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel.

• 3+ years of teaching experience in a high‑performing K‑12 setting with a proven track record of success.
• Coaching experience in a competitive, college‑preparatory environment; experience developing and leading a team to success at national‑level tournaments.
• Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership.

Flexible

Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools. The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
