NYC Math​/ELA In-person Tutors

Job Information

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in New York and we’re looking to hire math and ELA tutors who can assist middle school students during school hours. You will be working with students in grades K-8th.

You will actively supervise students as you help them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year.

You must be comfortable passing an IN-PERSON background check.

$32-$38 per hour. Pay depends on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.

• Working with groups of students (without the support of a teacher or school site staff)
• Preparing area to start tutoring session
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in school site
• Taking attendance and running lessons through Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable)
• Documenting student progress with Hey Tutor Dashboard
• When requested by manager, facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments
• Leading a group of students in the tutoring session, using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Creating an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in
• Supporting students in making positive behavior choices
• Engaging and interacting with tutoring lessons alongside the students
• Daily clocking in and out of Deputy for shifts
• Any other duties that may be required by the Company, your manager and/or the School Site

8:00-12:45 Tuesday-Friday

• Must have completed a bachelor's degree
• Tutoring experience (great at working with kids)
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us)
