Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Teacher Non-Certified. In this role, the successful candidate, under the supervision of the Education Director of the Center, will be responsible for working within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, DOE, DOHMH, NAEYC, and Quality Stars NY standards, policies, and procedures. Teachers promote early childhood education for children and families both in and out of the classroom by providing sound supervision, developmentally appropriate lessons and community outings, and ensuring the health and safety of all children.

Teachers develop positive parent relations and encourage parental involvement and the professional growth of classroom associates. Additionally, teachers conduct regular team meetings, attend staff meetings, and seek out professional development opportunities to meet the needs of their classrooms. Teachers must document lessons, observations, assessments, and all necessary paperwork.

  • Inspects fire exits and extinguishers regularly
  • Feeds children according to their individual needs, family input, and CACFP guidelines
  • Puts infants to sleep according to their individual schedules and takes care of infants upon awakening; every effort to prevent SIDS is made.
