Art Teacher, Teaching Artist – Part‑time, Manhasset, NY

Join a workplace that invests in you and connects you to a creative community. As an Art Teacher and Teaching Artist at One River School of Art + Design, you will teach and mentor motivated students, work alongside practicing artists, and grow with a team focused on development.

• Teach Art and/or Digital Design classes, including weekly museum‑quality art and digital art sessions and summer camps for various ages and media.
• Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students, observing, documenting, and communicating progress and growth opportunities.
• Implement the One River Methodology Curriculum in each class and contribute to lesson‑plan development; extra compensation is provided.
• Run a best‑in‑class studio: keep studio spaces and student artwork clean and organized, and oversee digital lab maintenance.
• Support student exhibitions: guide students to produce high‑quality work for January and June shows, tracking progress to meet deadlines.

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience teaching visual arts to K‑12 and/or adults; digital art skills are a plus.
• Track record of high‑quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.
• Live within a 30 minute commute to Manhasset.
• Passion for art history, contemporary art, and a “students‑first” mindset.
