- Under the supervision of the principal or a teacher, relieve teachers of non‑instructional duties.
- Perform yard, hall, lavatory, study hall, and other monitorial and patrol duties.
- Handle, store, and distribute textbooks, instructional supplies, and special materials.
- Assist with routine clerical work.
- Maintain order in the lunchroom and facilitate lunch service.
- Maintain school inventories.
- Check reports, notes, library lists, etc.
- Manage arrival and departure of children transported by bus.
- Receive children in the lunchroom, direct them in washing, disposal of wraps, and lining up for lunch service.
- Assist older children in obtaining lunch, oversee return of dishes and utensils, and disposal of refuse.
- Supervise and lead children in all daily activities, including entry, dismissal, lunch, and emergency drills.
- Perform other duties as requested by teachers or principals.
- Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work with supervisors and other school‑based staff.
- Good human relations skills.
- Efficiency in carrying out assignments.
- Bilingual candidates may be considered for schools with student or family language needs.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift objects weighing no more than 10 lbs.
- Experience working with students, preferably high‑school‑age.
- Ability to hold high‑school students to high expectations.
- Team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Hard‑working, urgent, and energetic.
Monday‑Friday. Hours vary by school. Minimum of 4 hours per day, five days per week.
SalaryAs per collective bargaining agreement.
