Responsibilities- Relieve teachers under the supervision of a principal or teacher from non‑teaching duties, such as yard, hall, lavatory, study hall, and patrol duties.
- Handle, store, and distribute textbooks, instructional supplies, and special materials.
- Assist with routine clerical work and maintain school inventories.
- Assist in maintaining order in the lunchroom, facilitate lunch service, and oversee the return of dishes and disposal of refuse.
- Manage the arrival and departure of children transported to school by bus; receive and direct children in lunchroom activities.
- Supervise and lead children in all daily activities, including entry, dismissal, lunch, and emergency drills.
- Check reports, notes, library lists, etc.
- Perform additional duties as requested by teachers or principals.
- Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors and other school‑based staff.
- Demonstrated history of good human relations.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently carry out assignments.
- Bilingual candidates may be considered for schools with student or familial language needs.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of the day.
- Ability to lift objects weighing no more than 10 lbs.
- Experience working with students, preferably high school‑age.
- Ability to hold high school students to high expectations.
- Team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Hard‑working, urgent, and energetic.
Monday-Friday. Hours vary by school. Minimum of 4 hours per day, five days per week.
SalaryAs per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
