Capital Preparatory Schools is a charter school management organization operating a network of educational communities. Our mission is to build a path where there was none. Our scholars, parents, faculty, and staff come together to create a compelling and meaningful educational experience.

We operate four schools: one in Harlem, one in the Bronx, New York, and two in Bridgeport, Connecticut, serving grades K–12 with a year‑round, college‑preparatory education. All children have the right conditions to succeed and excel, and we blend proven academic models with innovative approaches that lead to 100% of our graduates gaining admission to four‑year colleges.

• Follow the administrative procedures established by Capital Preparatory Schools as published in the Athletics Policies and Procedures Manual and all applicable policies.
• Develop and implement practice plans for scholars to ensure conditioning and training for competition.
• Provide individualized coaching and instruction to improve technique, physical fitness, and overall performance.
• Communicate effectively with scholars, parents, and other coaches regarding expectations, schedules, and progress.
• Schedule regular practices and supervise all team practices, games, and events, both home and away.
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive attitudes among scholars.
• Maintain equipment, uniforms, accurate records, and statistics for team performance.
• Enter grades for all scholars.
• Ensure compliance with all league rules and regulations, and complete the end‑of‑season checklist.
• Willingness to fundraise.
• Enforce team travel standards for behavior and appropriate dress.
• Oversee training and care of scholars.
• For Head Coach: select, supervise, and provide guidance to assistant coaches while monitoring their professional development.
• For Head Coach: conduct performance evaluations for full‑time and/or part‑time assistant coaches.
• Perform any and all duties assigned by Administration.

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports science, or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• Active certification to coach in the State of NY.
• Experience coaching at the high school level with a focus on skill development and player improvement.
• Strong knowledge of the sport, including current strategies, techniques, and trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire scholars.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff members.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification and concussion protocol training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to obtain passenger endorsement and maintain an excellent driving record.
• The position requires weekends, afternoons/evenings, and travel.

This part‑time position is paid by stipend. Salary for this position is commensurate with experience and ranges from $1,500.00 to $5,000.00 per year.
