Title:
Occupational Therapist
- Possession of a valid license and currently registered by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapist; or
- Possession of a Limited Permit to practice Occupational Therapy issued by the New York State Education Department.
- Experience in working with students with disabilities and understanding of child development.
- Certification in CPI and/or TCI.
- Deliver evidence based treatment and interventions to students district wide (K-12+) in a variety of settings.
- Conduct evaluations, reevaluations, and consultations including the use of a variety of tools including standardized measures; determine recommendations for services based on individual student needs as it pertains to the learning process and modifying as appropriate.
- Develop a treatment plan based upon assessment findings, including measurable goals.
- Act as a consultant to provide strategies for classroom teachers.
- Complete documentation of all evaluations, reevaluations, daily progress notes and discharge summaries per New York State, District, and Medicaid regulations; and documentation of Quarterly Progress Notes and consultations per District guidelines.
- Collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, physicians, teams, parents, community members and/or other support staff as appropriate regarding students’ needs.
- Maintain daily schedule per district guidelines.
