EOC Lecturer - Allied Health (Two Vacancies) - BEOC
The State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology (CUNY), provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents. Our mission is to support educational and economic advancement through high-quality, student-centered programming.
Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. EOC Lecturers perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise, including student advisement, curriculum development, and activities to advance the Centers educational goals.
BEOC invites applications for two (2) full-time EOC Lecturers in Allied Health. The position encompasses instructional and related faculty responsibilities in one or more of the following non-credit certificate programs/courses:
- Electronic Health Records
- Medical Billing and Coding/Medical Insurance
- Medical Terminology
- Phlebotomy/Vital Signs/EKG
- CPR/BLS
- AMAP/SCIP-R
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Pharmacy Technician
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Non-credit licensure preparation modules
The EOC Lecturer contributes to BEOC?s instructional excellence and programmatic goals through teaching, curriculum development, student advisement, and department service.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in a health-related or education field
- Three to five years of related professional or instructional experience
- Demonstrated effectiveness in and commitment to teaching adult and nontraditional learners, especially from underserved communities
- Experience with curriculum development and use of technology-enhanced instruction
- Familiarity with workforce development and credential-aligned training
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CNA Instructor, NHA, AHA BLS Instructor, AMAP, EMT, Pharmacy Tech, or LPN licensure) are highly desirable
$84,202 - $86,721. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
