The International Firestop Council (IFC) is expanding its reach and we’re looking for highly connected, organized, and mission-driven professionals to help us deliver more training, to more AHJs, in more places.
We’re proud to announce a new contract-based opportunity: the
Regional Firestop Training Coordinator
role. This position is ideal for individuals who know how to build relationships, coordinate logistics, and open doors—especially with AHJs, building departments, and regional code enforcement communities.
About the Role
As aRegional Firestop Training Coordinator, your main responsibility is to set up and coordinate firestop training seminars in partnership with local jurisdictions, building officials, and industry groups. You’ll help identify training needs, work with our national roster of instructors, and make sure every seminar runs smoothly, from scheduling to registration.
While presentation skills are a plus, you won’t be the default speaker. However, we may occasionally ask you to step in and deliver IFC training content as needed.
This is a flexible, part-time contractor position with a monthly base stipend, plus performance-based bonuses tied to each training session organized and attendee turnout.
Regions We’re Targeting
We are actively recruiting coordinators in the following high-priority regions:
- Texas
- New York (NYC and surrounding)

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate firestop training seminars with AHJs and regional stakeholders
- Initiate outreach to jurisdictions, building departments, and associations to host sessions
- Coordinate training logistics (host provides): venue, date, instructor availability, attendee promotion
- Work with IFC staff to ensure instructor coverage and approved training materials are used
- Step in to present IFC training as needed
- Submit attendance records and post-event feedback
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong existing relationships with AHJs, building officials, or industry associations
- Proven ability to coordinate training events, meetings, or outreach initiatives
- Confident communicator and connector; training or speaking experience a plus
- Knowledge of firestop systems and inspection requirements preferred
- Professional certifications (e.g., ICC, CFI, PE) are a bonus—but not required
- Self-motivated and able to work independently within your region
