General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time instructor in Dance in our Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences division. This position will be responsible for teaching and advising students throughout the academic year and will attend meetings as requested. Classes to be taught include Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Dance Performance, and Choreography. Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY.

Remuneration for this position is: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour.

In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis.   • Instructing in the field of Dance, including classes in Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Dance Performance, and Choreography
  • Adhering to attendance and College grading policies
  • Attending and participating in meetings as necessary
Essential Functions

Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Theatre or a related field.
  • Previous experience working as a Dance Instructor
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Theatre or related field
  • Previous teaching experience at a college or university
License(s)/Certifications
