The Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Alfred State College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. We are seeking a teaching-focused educator committed to mentoring undergraduates from diverse backgrounds, adapting instruction to support varying levels of preparation, and emphasizing applied, hands-on learning across lower- and upper-level criminal justice courses.

The CJUS program emphasizes social justice, ethics, law, innovation, and developing forward-looking approaches to the field. We welcome candidates who share these priorities and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: global or comparative criminology, cybercrime/cybersecurity, digital evidence and analysis, private security, research methods, or related fields.

Required

• Master s degree in criminal justice or another criminal justice-related field

Preferred

• Ph.D. in criminal justice or a related field;
• Professional or applied experience in cybersecurity, cybercrime investigations, digital evidence and analysis, private security or the corporate/industrial security sector;
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

The salary for this position is $54,000 and is commensurate with education and qualifications. Employees are offered exceptional benefits including extensive healthcare and retirement options, with a pension and a focus on work-life balance.
