The CUNY School of Medicine (SoM), located in the heart of Harlem, New York, is the only medical school in the City University of New York system and the only public medical school in Manhattan. Building upon 50 years of success as the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, the institution transitioned to the CUNY School of Medicine in 2016. The CUNY SoM offers an accelerated BS/MD degree (7-year program) and a Physician Assistant Master’s Degree (27-month program).

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Curriculum & Assessment, the Clerkship Coordinator will coordinate Clinical Educational activities for the third- and fourth-year students in the MD program. The Clerkship Coordinator will provide administrative support for various aspects of the clinical clerkship across multiple clinical sites (hospitals). He/She will regularly communicate with students, faculty, staff and other key stakeholders regarding logistics and requirements of the Clerkship Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Organize and maintain records for all clinical program activities; manage a database of M3 Students; prepare and post clerkship materials in academic management systems.
- Communicate with students, residents, and faculty to provide assistance with various issues including, general course support, LCMS access, clerkship location confirmation, evaluation process and other related concerns; assistance to be provided during and after the clerkship.
- Develop working relationships with the Clerkship Directors, Office of Medical Education, Office of Student Affairs, Registrar, and fellow Clerkship Coordinators.
- Download student logs of required patient experiences (from LCMS+) and record the number of patient encounters, online evaluations, attendance records and submit all materials to the Clerkship Director.
- Arrange meetings and facilitate communication between the Clerkship Director and students, residents, faculty and other Clinical Education staff including the end-of-Clerkship OSCE team in the Clinical Skills Course.
- Submit the Student Rotation List to the Evaluation Coordinator no later than one week before the end of each rotation.
- Coordinate seminars and reserve rooms and distribute course materials to Lecturers, Preceptors and Students.
Bachelor's degree required.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS- Two years' experience in medical education (preferably in a hospital setting) is highly desired
- Extensive experience working with MS Excel, Google Sheets and Forms.
- Working knowledge of LCMS such as LEO, E-Medley, On-line Diagnosis Tracking System and Educational Evaluation System
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with faculty, staff, and students.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of faculty and staff, both within and beyond CSOM.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and accurately complete tasks independently.
Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a college's specialized academic program.
- Manages office records including program files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities.
- Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students.
