Academic Student Support Program Specialist

Zicklin Global Programs at Baruch College seeks an Academic Student Support Program Specialist to support the administration and delivery of our global partnership programs. The Specialist will advise students directly, provide faculty support, and support program operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, multiple campus offices, and partner institutions.
The Academic Student Support Program Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Global Programs.
- Coordinate with Undergraduate Admissions, International Student Services Center (ISSC), and partner institutions to ensure timely admission, onboarding, and enrollment of students.
- Advise students in our global programs on course registration through group and individual sessions (in person and virtual).
- Conduct academic progress audits, evaluate GPAs each semester, and identify students not meeting requirements.
- Process international student forms (e.g., reduced course load, Optional Practical Training applications) in collaboration with the ISSC.
- Advise students on transfer credits, academic policies, and internship/CPT/OPT eligibility.
- Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and campus offices to resolve academic and administrative issues.
- Collaborate with Zicklin Undergraduate Programs, Zicklin Graduate Programs, the Registrar’s Office, and academic departments on course scheduling, registration, and curriculum planning.
- Assist Associate Director in planning and implementing program orientation and academic support initiatives.
- Collaborate with and support the Zicklin Undergraduate Programs Office as needed for various student support activities.
- Assist with managing of faculty teaching assignments abroad, including gathering documentation, verifying schedules, and supporting visa/travel arrangements.
- Coordinate travel reimbursements and logistics in accordance with CUNY and Baruch policies.
- Complete purchasing forms for catering services and commodities and assist Associate Director in managing requests, purchase orders, receipts, etc.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Public Safety for event support.
- Assist Associate Director in preparing invoices for partner schools and completing internal funds transfers.
- Collaborate with different units and offices to ensure seamless fund transfers.
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience fostering inclusive programming and supporting students from varied backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective communication and collaboration with students, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Qualtrics to analyze students’ academic progress and program engagement, and feedback, and making data‑informed decisions to improve student support.
- Confidence in learning and utilizing new technology platforms to track student academic progress and program engagement.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills to manage a large workload, multiple priorities, and strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Provides educational development activities supporting a targeted academic program.
- Assists in developing and preparing program offerings, curricula, guidelines, and related communications.
- Promotes program and advises students and College stakeholders on services, policies, and procedures.
- Advises faculty, counselors, tutors, administrators and others on program goals, activities, and best practices.
- Provides student services such as workshops, seminars, and advising sessions.
- Coordinates efforts of faculty, staff, and other service providers to monitor and assess utilization, student progress, and program effectiveness.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits$74,490–$82,663;
