Advertised Salary: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour.
Working HoursMonday and Wednesday, 3:45 pm – 7:30 pm (main campus, Sanborn, NY)
General DescriptionTeach OSHA and safety courses in the Business & STEM divisions, developing curriculum and delivering instruction through lectures or lab sessions. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and maintaining accurate attendance records.
Typical Work Activities- Teach courses in the agreed delivery format (on campus, hybrid, blended or online)
- Develop courses for the OSHA and safety curriculum, including student learning outcomes and assessment measures
- Demonstrate skill and knowledge in teaching the discipline
- Continuously improve instruction quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
- Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials appropriate for diverse student backgrounds and learning styles
- Keep accurate student attendance and records, submitting related reports and forms within requested timelines
- Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials
- Demonstrate competence and interest in the use of technology in the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional methodologies
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Learn and apply technologies that support student learning
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Niagara County Community College and SUNY Niagara
- Define how to assess student learning outcomes and report on them, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, promoting good public relations through regular communication with business, industry, and the public sector
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations, maintain flexible schedule, speak publicly, effectively communicate with students and colleagues, inspire and motivate students, prepare and present information, operate computers and software, evaluate students’ progress, manage administrative responsibilities, organize time efficiently, and physically perform required duties.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree
- 3 years of experience providing OSHA training
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OSHA Instructor certification
- 3‑5 years of related work experience
- Remote learning teaching experience
- Experience with the Brightspace learning management system
