Bilingual ELA Tutor

The Job

Toolkit Tutors is seeking a bilingual (Spanish) Middle School ELA Tutor to provide small-group, pull-out tutoring during the school day at a public school in Far Rockaway, Queens.

This role is approximately 5.5 hours/day, Monday–Thursday
, from January 12, 2026 through May 15, 2026
.

Curriculum, training, and ongoing support are provided. Tutors work closely with school staff to reinforce key ELA skills, build student confidence, and support English learners.

• Bachelor’s degree (completed, or near completion with strong academic performance)
• Fluent in English and Spanish; able to support students learning English as a second language
• At least one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience in a school or educational setting
• Experience working with urban school communities and an understanding of student challenges
• Strong middle school ELA content knowledge
• Punctual, reliable, and committed to student success
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage students effectively
• Ability to commute to Far Rockaway, Queens
• DOE fingerprint clearance strongly preferred
